Following a 4-week trial at Basildon Crown Court, Jay Silver and Jordan Yakulu have been convicted of attempted murder.
Their accomplice Trenton Best was convicted of wounding with intent.
The allegations related to the stabbing of the victim in broad daylight in a residential area of Pitsea, Basildon, on the afternoon of 16 February 2021. The victim received eight stab wounds causing serious and life-threatening injuries.
The victim became reluctant to participate in the proceedings and refused to attend the trial. Notwithstanding this, the Crown pursued the allegation without evidence from the victim and on the remainder of the circumstantial evidence available.
After deliberating for more than 13 hours, the jury reached the above verdicts. Sentencing will take place in late October.
