Solicitors

Most of the work carried out by members of Red Lion Chambers is referred to us by in-house counsel and solicitors in private practice. Every aspect of the work we do and the relationships we pride ourselves on is grounded in mutual trust, respect and our proven ability to provide excellent advocacy and advice.

Our approach

At Red Lion Chambers, we understand the importance of building long-standing professional relationships. We also understand the pressures and challenges that solicitors face when managing client expectations in what is a highly competitive marketplace.

Our tactical knowledge, approachability and expertise mean we exceed expectations and maintain a strong reputation for reliability and good results. Our experienced clerking team works to support barristers by promoting the highest professional standards at all times.

Known to be a particularly friendly and approachable team of barristers, we work hard to manage expectations and to achieve client satisfaction.

Most importantly, helping your client is our primary objective. With our help, you will be able to respond to any legal changes and maximise your client’s chances of success.

Trust & consistency

We pride ourselves on our ability to attract first-class members, who will help ensure the strongest possible case is put forward for your client.

Chambers’ Practice Management Team will keep you informed at every stage of proceedings. All solicitors working in partnership with us will be aware of what we can deliver and when.

We work closely with solicitors and are keen to share legal knowledge and discuss topical subjects through our in-house seminars.

How we charge

We pride ourselves on being both transparent and flexible in how we charge our instructing solicitors. This includes offering both hourly rates and all-in case fees, supported at all times by a clear and comprehensive work log.

The fees for each matter will be determined by the nature of the case, the level of case complexity and the seniority of the barrister instructed. Generally our barristers will charge an hourly rate for all preparation and advisory work.

The fees for each case are assessed individually and, as a result, it is difficult to indicate the fee level prior to receipt of case papers. As a guideline, however, you can expect hourly rates to range from £100 for a Junior Tenant up to £900 per hour for a Senior Silk. Attendance rates would range from £350 for a Junior Tenant to £3,500 per day for a Senior King’s Counsel.

For an initial conference with a Public Access junior barrister our fees start from £250 + VAT.

All Members of chambers are registered for VAT and all fees quoted will be subject to the addition of VAT.
