Riel Karmy-Jones KC and Hannah Gladwell have concluded the prosecution of Logan Burnett, 27, who pleaded guilty to the murder of his ex-partner at Ipswich Crown Court on 26 November, as well as to two counts of possessing knives.
On 6 August 2024, 26-year-old Courtney Mitchell, a devoted mother of three, was tragically murdered in broad daylight on Burrell Road, Ipswich. She died from stab wounds to the chest that evening.
Sentencing is scheduled for 17 February 2025, with the judge indicating that a long prison term of life imprisonment should be anticipated.
