Rebecca Chalkley KC will be a main speaker at the Sports Risk Summit, titled “Steering Through Safety, Security, and Scandal,” on Thursday, 7th November 2024.
The event which is hosted by Addleshaw Goddard will take place at the iconic Tunnel Club at Manchester City FC’s Etihad Stadium and will feature a series of panel discussions that delve into critical topics such as corporate crime in sports, and tax scandals.
In 2022, Rebecca successfully led the prosecution of six-time Grand Slam Tennis Champion Boris Becker for offences under the Insolvency Act related to his bankruptcy. This case, the most high-profile prosecution of its kind, is now regarded as a landmark, highlighting a significant shift in how courts approach both insolvency offences and celebrity figures. In recognition of this achievement, Rebecca was named “The Times Lawyer of the Week” in April 2022. Read more: [Rebecca Chalkley KC Profile ]
