Michael Goodwin KC leading Lucy Ginsberg was instructed to defend Menelik Campbell who was charged with the murder of a young man in his home in East London.
Following the obtaining of defence psychiatric evidence the prosecution was persuaded to accept that the client had been acting under a diminished responsibility.
A plea to manslaughter was accepted by the prosecution who did not proceed to trial for murder and on 5 July 2023 the court ordered a hospital order with restrictions under the Mental Health Act.
