Nicholas Hall represented the General Medical Council in the case of a Doctor sterilising a patient without her consent.
Nicholas Hall successfully represented the GMC in the case where the Doctor sterilised a patient following an emergency caesarean section. This sterilisation was not necessary to save the woman’s life or prevent harm to her health. The patient had never consented to such a procedure and the Doctor admitted it was in violation of her reproductive rights.
After a 7-day hearing the Tribunal found that the Doctor had seriously departed from Good Medical Practice and that his practice was currently impaired. The Tribunal imposed a suspension order of the maximum length of 12 months.
A large part of Nicholas’s practice is dedicated to regulatory work in healthcare regulation, and in criminal regulatory cases. He has represented Regulatory bodies and medical professionals in a wide range of misconduct. Read more: [Nicholas Hall Profile]
