Mathew Dance secures acquittal in importation of 125kg of class A drugs

Mathew Dance secured an acquittal of a defendant charged with importing 74kg of cocaine, 51kg of Heroin and 20kg of cannabis.

The wholesale value of the drugs was in excess of £3million.

The defendant was stopped in Harwich having arrived from Holland in a HGV that had a trailer with a modified roof within which the drugs were concealed.

The case involved expert evidence on vehicle modification and tachograph analysis.

The trial was heard at Chelmsford Crown Court and lasted 3 weeks.
