Colly McNeil and Keston Redhead were sentenced to 17 years in prison for attempting to import a self-loading pistol from the US and conspiring to import class A drugs. The UK Border Force intercepted the handgun at Stansted Airport in July 2023, hidden in a metallic safe box.
The National Crime Agency (NCA) linked the pair to the importation using surveillance, telecommunications and IP address tracking. The duo also used false names and derelict delivery addresses to avoid detection. Additional drugs and paraphernalia, including ½ a kilo of cocaine, 7 kilos of cannabis and weaponry, were seized during searches.
The convictions followed a six-week trial at Kingston Crown Court. Redhead will be deported after serving his sentence. Leo led Charles Drinnan, of 2 Harcourt Buildings.
