Jack Talbot successful in the Court of Appeal

Jack represented a young man imprisoned for six years having pleaded guilty to Causing Death by Dangerous Driving and Causing Serious Injury by Dangerous Driving. The case drew considerable media attention in the Crown Court.

Jack opposed His Majesty’s Solicitor General’s application for leave to refer the sentence as unduly lenient. Following detailed written and oral argument, the Court of Appeal held that the sentence imposed was not outside the range of sentences reasonably available to the sentencing judge.
