Emily Mattin has concluded the prosecution of a former University of Sussex student following a 3 week trial at Lewes Crown Court.
Alex Patel-Wells, 26, was found guilty of four counts of rape, two counts of sexual assault and one count of assault by penetration.
The offences related to five victims, four of whom were fellow students at the University of Sussex. The attacks happened at properties on the university campus as well as in London and Brighton, including at Mr Patel-Wells’ home.
The verdict was delivered at Lewes Crown Court on Thursday 16 October with sentencing due to take place on 19 December at Lewes Crown Court.
