Edward Renvoize has led the POCA proceedings against the men convicted of the violent robbery at the home of Olympic cyclist Sir Mark Cavendish and his wife, Peta. The proceedings, held at Chelmsford Crown Court, resulted in a confiscation order totalling £754,525—the assessed value of the stolen items.
The robbery occurred in November 2021, when a balaclava-clad gang armed with large knives broke into the Cavendish residence in Ongar, Essex. During the raid, the intruders threatened the couple and stole two Richard Mille watches valued at £400,000 and £300,000, among other items.
The court ordered that the convicted men—Romario Henry, Ali Sesay and Jo Jobson—must repay the full amount within three months or face an additional six years in prison. Assets seized included a Mercedes-Benz car and £24,740 in cash from Sesay, as well as funds from Jobson’s bank account. No assets were attributed to Henry.
Ed Renvoize has extensive experience in cases of Serious and Organised Crime matters and in proceedings brought under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002. Read more: [Edward Renvoize Profile]
