Aneurin Brewer has completed the trial of a teenager who was accused of four counts of manslaughter and one count of piloting a boat which facilitated the commission of breaches of UK immigration law.
The case involved the first prosecution of a small boats pilot for manslaughter arising from the drowning of passengers when their inflatable capsized.
The case was a retrial at Canterbury Crown Court and attracted significant national media interest throughout.
