Hugh French has written a Book Review for the Law Society Gazette on “Unlawful Killings: Life, Love and Murder: Trials at the Old Bailey” by Wendy Joseph QC.
Wendy Joseph QC was a judge at the Old Bailey, trying mainly allegations of murder and homicide. She was the only woman amongst 16 judges and at the time only the third woman to ever hold a permanent position at the Old Bailey. Unlawful Killings is her first book.
Hugh comments:
“the book…grapples with some of the overarching questions about the trial process and what lessons, if any, can be learned. This is a thought-provoking read for those who work in the system and for those who don’t.”
