We are delighted to announce that two Chambers cases have been shortlisted for the “Most Important Development of the Year” Award at the upcoming Global Investigations Review (GIR) Awards 2024 in Washington DC, USA.
The GIR Awards “celebrate the people and firms behind the past year’s most dazzling investigations and court cases.”
The recognition relates to work by RLC’s barristers on the landmark cases: NCA v World Uyghur Congress and the first ever Deferred Prosecution Agreement (DPA) between the CPS and Entain plc.
In June 2024, RLC’s Jonathan Fisher KC, Tom Forster KC and Anita Clifford, (along with Russell Hopkins, Temple Garden Chambers, and Admas Habteslasie, Landmark Chambers) successfully represented the World Uyghur Congress in The Court of Appeal (Civil Division) in a challenge brought against the NCA’s decision not to investigate suspected breaches of POCA involving cotton imports from Xinjiang, China.
