Sophie Quinton-Carter secures win in Court of Appeal

October 15, 2021
Sophie Quinton-Carter successfully argued on Friday 15 October, 2021 that a total sentence of four years’ imprisonment in respect of nine counts of voyeurism was manifestly excessive.
The case was unusual in that videos of over 900 women had been retrieved by police. The Court of Appeal had to determine how to approach this ‘industrial scale’ offending which the sentencing guidelines did not explicitly cater for. The client’s total sentence was reduced to three years.
