Simon Spence KC and Nicola May have successfully prosecuted 29 year old Oskars Kantors who was found guilty of murdering his neighbour in an attack motivated by jealousy.
Mr Kantors fatally stabbed Mr Agris Leigavnieks, 41, at his home in Old School Close in Leiston, Suffolk in October 2022, believing Mr Leigavnieks to be having an affair with his girlfriend.
Critically-injured Mr Leigavnieks, who lived on the same street, was taken to Ipswich Hospital but later died with Mr. Kantors arrested the same evening.
Mr Kantors previously pleaded guilty to two counts of assault causing actual bodily harm to two separate victims on the same day as the stabbing.
The attacks had a common motive of jealousy or other grievance on the part of the defendant against his victims.
The trial lasted two weeks at Ipswich Crown Court with the jury delivering a unanimous guilty verdict.
He was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term to serve of 21 years and 9 months on Friday 17th November.
