Sailesh Mehta leads on talks in Italy over the Syrian refugee crisis. Hundreds of thousands of refugees are fleeing Syria and sailing to Italy. A spate of shipwrecks and boats capsizing have been reported, showing the North Africa-Italy route to be particularly dangerous. Thousands of refugees have been reported either dead or missing.

Next week Sailesh will lead on talks relating to the Human Rights of those fleeing Syria to travel to Italy. The outcomes will be reported to the UN high commissioner for refugees.
