Sailesh Mehta spoke to the i paper about the new crime bill and how the right to protest could be curbed beyond the pandemic. He said:

“The real difficulty is that the bill gives even more discretionary powers to the police in ‘negotiating’ protests, and whether they will allow marches at all.”
