Anthony Constantinou, the former Director of Forex trading firm “Capital World Markets” is alleged to have used the firm to attract investors in an alleged £50million Ponzi fraud that targeted amongst others the UK’s Nepalese community.
He faces seven charges including fraud by false representation and four counts of money laundering. The remaining two charges are separate counts of fraudulent trading under the Companies Act and the Fraud Act.
RLC members Gillian Jones KC and David Walbank KC leading Marilyn Vitte have been instructed for the defence by Keith Wood, a partner at Lewis Nedas Law.
The trial commenced at Southwark Crown Court on Monday 27 March, 2023 and is expected to last 8 weeks.
