Riel Karmy-Jones Secures People Trafficking Convictions

Following an 8 week trial at Woolwich Crown Court in the case of R v Suchy, Sana, Sanova, and Ul Islam, Riel Karmy-Jones, leading for the Prosecution, secured convictions in this prosecution of three Roma Gypsies and a Pakistani man for offences of people trafficking into and within the UK from Slovakia.

 

The case involved the trafficking of a young Roma gypsy woman into the UK in order that she be sold to Ul-Islam to facilitate him obtain residency in this country. Whilst with him she was raped.
