Riel Karmy-Jones QC and Noel Casey secure convictions for human trafficking.

On 18th August 2015, at the conclusion of a 3-month trial at the Central Criminal Court, Riel Karmy-Jones QC and Noel Casey secured convictions of three defendants from Slovakia on charges of conspiracy to traffic women for exploitation, and conspiracy to facilitate sham marriages. The facts concerned the trafficking of Roma women into the UK as part of a Europe-wide conspiracy. The case was successfully investigated by a Joint Investigation Team from the Metropolitan Police and the Slovak police. Three other defendants had already pleaded guilty.
