Rebecca Chalkley, instructed by the Environment Agency, successfully prosecutes the water company Anglian Water Services Ltd, for a series of serious sewage pollutions in three counties (Cambridgeshire, Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire).
The company was fined a total of £1.7 million (£1.2 million & £510,000).
Rebecca is frequently instructed in regulatory matters, both pre and post commencement, both advising on and acting in the cases. This includes cases brought by the Health and Safety Executive (‘HSE’), the Environment Agency (‘EA’), the Drinking Water Inspectorate (‘DWI’), the Financial Conduct Authority (‘FCA’), General Medical Council (‘GOC’) and the General Optical Council (‘GOC’).
