Nina Tavakoli instructed in war crimes trial of former Kosovo President

Nina Tavakoli has been instructed in the war crimes trial of ex Kosovo President Hashim Thaci opening in The Hague today ( Monday 3 April, 2023).

Nina Tavakoli is part of the Defence team representing the former Kosovo President who is indicted, along with three others, for war crimes and crimes against humanity.

The trial will take place at the Kosovo Specialist Chambers, The Hague.

Nina Tavakoli has extensive experience acting in genocide and war crimes cases for both the prosecution and the defence. She is ranked as a leading international criminal lawyer in UK legal directories Chambers UK and Legal 500 and is co-chair of Chambers’ International practice group.

Nina has previously acted in ground breaking cases before the International Criminal Court (Rohingya jurisdiction), the Special Court for Sierra Leone (Charles Taylor) and numerous cases at the UN International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda.
