Michael Goodwin secures acquittal in large scale case involving contraband cigarettes

Michael Goodwin, Instructed by Sweetman Burke Sinker,  secures acquittal in one of the largest prosecutions ever brought for the illegal evasion of duty on contraband cigarettes on a single occasion. More than 3 million cigarettes were seized by customs officers, having been imported via Dover from Poland. The case resulted in the prosecution of 8 men from north London. Following a 5 week trial Michael’s client was acquitted unanimously.
