Congratulations to Mary Cowe (Associate Tenant) who has been appointed as the next Director of Service Prosecutions and the Head of the Service Prosecuting Authority (SPA) within the Ministry Of Defence and Civil Service.
The high level post will be based at RAF Northolt where Mary will be responsible for overseeing the prosecution of serious criminal offences within the Armed Forces, working independently of the military chain of command.
Her role will include leading the SPA’s legal teams, ensuring fair and effective prosecutions and upholding the highest standards of justice in a unique and vital area of law.
Gillian Jones KC, Co-Head of Chambers, said:
“Red Lion has a long history with service prosecutions and Mary’s appointment continues that tradition with distinction. She has made a significant contribution to Red Lion Chambers during her time as an Associate Tenant, working on complex and sensitive cases and sharing her wisdom, integrity and generosity with all those around her. We will miss her and look forward to seeing the impact she will make in this prestigious new role.”
