Lord Chris Patten’s son in law convicted in firearms case

Elton Charles, an ex-florist, has been convicted of conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

He is married to the daughter of Lord Chris Patten- the last British Governor to Hong Kong from 1992-1997.

Elton Charles was found guilty of acting as a getaway driver in a shooting that took place in a Punjabi restaurant in Greenford involving his half brother.

2 other defendants Nicholas Grant, 46 and Lee Morgan, 42 were also found guilty of conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. Charles’s half-brother, 48-year-old Nathaniel St Aimie pleaded guilty.

Sentencing will take place on Sep 15th at Kingston Crown Court.
