Lifetime Ban for Athletics coach

Max Baines represented UK Athletics (UKA) in proceedings against John Lees, a senior athletics coach, for misconduct.

An independent appeal committee found a number of charges, including sexual abuse of an athlete aged under 18, proven.

Lees was given a permanent ban from coaching.

UKA is the governing body for the sport of athletics in the UK. It is responsible for overseeing the governance of athletics events in the UK as well as athletes, their development, and athlete officials.
