January 25, 2019

Joanna Hardy has today concluded the trial of a man accused of attempted murder.

Following a dispute in a London pub, the defendant attempted to ‘glass’ the complainant. He was ejected, but later returned to the pub armed with a knife. He stabbed the complainant in the neck area.

The defendant accepted wounding with intent (amongst other offences) but denied having the specific intention to kill. The defendant did not give evidence.

The jury returned a not guilty verdict in relation to attempted murder.

The defendant will be sentenced for the offences to which he pleaded guilty on a later date.
