Eve’s Law Campaign Recognised for Safety Contribution

September 4, 2014
The Eve’s Law campaign to protect victims of domestic and sexual violence has been short listed for the prestigious Suzy Lamplugh Trust National Personal Safety Award 2014 for the Best Safety Campaign. David Malone, a barrister at Red Lion Chambers, provided advice to the campaign and helped to launch it alongside Eve Thomas (a pseudonym). Further information on the award may be found at the Suzy Lamplugh Trust and at Eve Thomas’ #SAFE consultancy website.
The short listing follows a year when the Home Secretary, the Rt Hon Theresa May MP, announced, because of the Eve’s Law campaign, that a Code of Practice would be introduced to specifically deal with the concerns raised with the Government. The Deputy Prime Minister and the Labour Opposition have given their support to the legislative proposals of Eve’s Law.
