David Young instructed in a new Hague case at the Kosovo court

On the 18 February 2025 the Registrar of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in the Hague, Dr. Fidelma Donlon, conditionally assigned David Young as the Specialist Counsel to Mr. Fadil Fazliu.

According to the public indictment, Mr. Hashim Thaci ( the former President of Kosovo) is alleged to have provided the Co-Accused Smakaj, Kilaj, Fazliu and Kuci with confidential information about prosecution witnesses, and is alleged to have instructed them to influence the testimonies of prosecution witnesses in the ongoing war crimes trial. Mr. Fazliu is charged with Attempted Obstruction and Contempt of Court. Mr. Fazliu has pleaded Not Guilty to all charges against him.

David was the former Director of International Affairs for the Criminal Bar Association in England and Wales and has previously worked in three of the Hague’s International Courts, between 2011-2023. He Co-Chairs Red Lion Chambers International practice group.
