Congratulations to RLC member Cameron Brown who has been appointed Chair of the Safeguarding and Protection Committee by the Lawn Tennis Association [LTA]

Following a competitive selection exercise,  Cameron Brown has been appointed as one of three part time legally Qualified Chairs of the Safeguarding and Protection Committee by the LTA-the National Governing Body for tennis in Great Britain, Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. The Safeguarding and Protection Committee (SPC) take decisions on safeguarding cases ensuring a proportionate response to allegations of a safeguarding nature.

The LTA’s vision is ‘Tennis Opened Up’ with the mission to make tennis more relevant, accessible, welcoming and enjoyable recognising that this also means ensuring tennis is a safe and inclusive sport.  With a responsibility to support the welfare of all children, young people and adults at risk, the LTA want to put measures in place where all participants are safeguarded from abuse and have an enjoyable tennis experience.

Cameron Brown starts the appointment in 2020 and will be in position for 3 years. He also sits as a part time legally Qualified Chair for the Metropolitan and City of London Police disciplinary panel and as a Legal Assessor for the HCPC.
