Chambers welcomes new member Maleeka Bokhari

RLC is delighted to welcome Maleeka Bokhari as a member following the successful completion of her probationary tenancy.

Maleeka Bokhari practises in international, criminal and regulatory law. Her career encompasses courtroom advocacy, legislative reform and international representation. Her background in strategic litigation and legal reform, combined with a comparative international perspective, enables her to bring unique insight and depth to her work.

She brings to the UK Bar a decade of high-level legal and legislative experience from Pakistan, where she served as a Member of Parliament and Parliamentary Secretary for Law and Justice. Her leadership was central to landmark reforms in gender justice, including survivor-centred laws on sexual violence and women’s property rights that continue to shape national policy.

She also served as Pakistan’s Member of the Permanent Court of Arbitration, a role that reflects her international standing and expertise in public international law and dispute resolution. This experience informs her developing practice in international arbitration, cross-border disputes and advisory work on international legal and policy matters.

As a member of RLC, Maleeka is developing a distinctly international practice with legal and policy engagements across the UAE, Middle East and South Asia. Her work focuses on international human rights law and advocacy before international and regional jurisdictions, encompassing litigation, advisory work, consultancy, training and monitoring. This reflects her commitment to transnational justice, rule of law development and human rights protection across multiple legal systems.
