Chambers are delighted to be taking part in the 2023 London Legal Walk on 13 June.
The Red Lion ‘Walkers’ include: Co-Head of Chambers Antony Shaw KC, Jeremy Benson KC, Cameron Brown KC, Sailesh Mehta, Richard Beynon, Paul Evans, Valerie Charbit, Zoë Chapman, Timothy Kiely, Joshua Ellis, Kitan Ososami, Felicity Wilson and Nelly Rabbetts.
Chambers join the Lord Chief Justice and thousands of lawyers remotely to raise funds for the London Legal Support Trust which funds Law Centres and pro bono agencies in and around London.
As the cost of living rises, the need for free legal help with debt, benefits, housing, asylum and domestic violence is now greater than ever.
Two-thirds of the UK population do not know where to seek legal advice and 14 million people who live in poverty are unable to pay for it. The London Legal Walk raises vital funds to ensure access to justice for some of our communities’ most poor and vulnerable people and support is needed now more than ever with the challenges brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic.
London Legal Walk supports around 100 legal advice agencies in London and the South East who are working tirelessly to prevent homelessness, resolve debt problems, gain care for the elderly as well as fight discrimination and exploitation. Chambers will also be supporting the Free Representation Unit and Advocate with the funds raised.
