Chambers continues to strengthen its ties to the University of East London, a relationship that began in 2019 when Chambers hosted an Open Day attended by students, lecturers, the Chair of the Bar Council Amanda Pinto KC and Co‑Head of Chambers Gillian Jones KC.
Sailesh Mehta (a UEL Law Fellow) hosted Tezdjan Hassan and Fawwaz Ahmed from the Royal Docks School of Business and Law @UEL. The law students spent the day in Chambers and took part in a mock Prosecution Opening and Sentencing exercise, had lunch at Inner Temple, read parts of the Magna Carta at Temple Church and attended a conference involving one of the largest corporations in the UK. Sailesh commented:
“At Red Lion, we are committed to breaking down barriers and widening access to the Bar. Through our ELBA programme, our partnerships and our ongoing charitable work, we strive to create meaningful pathways. Our aim is simple: to open doors, expand opportunities and ensure that talented individuals from all backgrounds can pursue a career at the Bar.”
