Alex Benn appeared on behalf of a defendant, charged following an incident in which he had thrown an egg in the direction of the monarch in Luton.
The case was one of ‘special jurisdiction’, meaning that it had to be heard by the Chief Magistrate (Senior District Judge) in England and Wales, sitting at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.
The defendant pleaded guilty to the offence, contrary to the Public Order Act 1986. He received a fine of £100.
Alex was instructed by Ahmed Malik and Wasef Ali of Liberty Law Solicitors.
