Valerie Charbit accredited as an Associate Mediator by the Civil Mediation Council

Valerie Charbit has qualified as an associate mediator for the Civil Mediation Council [CMC].

She is a certified mediator with the International Mediation Institute and an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

Valerie was called to the Bar in 1994. She has a broad ranging practice in criminal and regulatory work and is experienced in complex factual and legal cases. Her wide-ranging experience means she is very well placed to advise in cases where civil and criminal law intersect. Her practice encompasses cases in the following areas: health and safety, fraud, professional discipline, inquests and inquiries and crime.

She sits as a First Tier Tribunal Judge (Mental Health) and as a legal advisor/assessor for various professional disciplinary regulators. An ethics and advocacy trainer for Middle Temple she was a lead facilitator for the South Eastern Circuit’s Vulnerable Witness Advocacy Training program.

Valerie is Chair of the Regulatory Practice Group at Red Lion Chambers and Wellbeing Director for Chambers. She has worked in several capacities to promote wellbeing at the Bar and has promoted initiatives for lawyers to work collaboratively with all parties. Her work on wellbeing informs her work ethic.

She works in London in face to face mediation and online.
