Simon Spence KC instructed for the prosecution in manslaughter of cyclist

Simon Spence KC has been instructed for the prosecution in the manslaughter of a cyclist.

The defendant, on foot, and the deceased, on a folding bicycle, had been travelling in opposite directions on the same pavement of a Cambridgeshire town’s ring road. It is alleged that the defendant gestured in a hostile and aggressive way causing the cyclist to fall off her bike and into the road where she was hit by an oncoming car. The cyclist died at the scene.

The trial commenced at Peterborough Crown Court on Monday 20 February and will last for up to 2 weeks.

Simon prosecutes and defends in numerous high profile and complex cases of murder and manslaughter trials across East Anglia.

Simon was instructed by East of England CPS
