Riel Karmy-Jones KC interviewed by Radio 4

Riel Karmy-Jones KC (Chair of The Criminal Bar Association) appeared on the latest edition of BBC Radio 4’s ‘The Law Show’ to discuss the use of ‘blitz courts’ across England and Wales. Amongst other things, the programme examined the courts’ efforts to fast-track cases and group sentencing hearings for similar offences to make the process swifter. It also considered how these measures are helping to reduce court backlogs and their wider impact on the criminal justice system. Working conditions for the criminal bar and the issues with the Court estate were also discussed.
