Lee Young is a highly experienced clerk with more than 31 years’ experience across criminal, civil and family work. He joined Chambers in June 2009 and as Assistant Practice Director brings extensive knowledge of clerking, practice management and client service to his role.
Lee plays a key role in the day-to-day management of members’ practices, providing practical, responsive and client-focused support to members, solicitors and professional clients. His responsibilities include diary management, case bookings, managing hearing dates, assisting with the selection of appropriate counsel and negotiating fees for both junior counsel and King’s Counsel. He also manages diary clashes, returns, new instructions and fee queries, ensuring work is allocated effectively.
Alongside his core clerking responsibilities, Lee is involved in the supervision and development of junior staff and contributes to Chambers’ wider business development activity. He maintains strong relationships with solicitors and professional clients, regularly attending client meetings and Chambers events and supports specialist practice initiatives relating to homicide, POCA and fire law.
Lee is known for his approachable, practical and solutions-focused style, providing members and clients with a consistently high level of support.
