Gillian Jones QC, joint Head of Chambers has won the highly prestigious award Criminal Silk of the Year 2020 from Legal 500.
She collected her Award last week alongside other winners at the Awards ceremony which included inspirational women such as Harriet Wistrich, Philippa Kaufman QC and Catherine Addy QC.The Legal 500 UK Awards conducting over 50,000 interviews over the period of 12 months to ascertain the winners of 2020.
Gillian is cited as a Leading Silk in financial crime, business and regulatory crime, Proceeds of Crime Act and Asset Forfeiture, as well as General Crime by Chambers UK, Legal 500 and Who’s Who Legal. She has considerable experience in relation to allegations involving murder and manslaughter, misconduct in public office (including deaths in custody, fraud, and sexual misconduct), death by dangerous driving and serious sexual offences having developed specialist expertise in trials involving vulnerable witnesses.
In 2018, Gillian Jones QC was appointed the first female (Joint) Head of Red Lion Chambers’ and is one of the youngest Heads in its 70 year history. Upon Winning the Award, Gillian said:
