Congratulations to RLC member David Young who has been appointed the new Director of International Affairs for the Criminal Bar Association.
Co-Chair of the RLC International Practice Group, David Young has been recognized for his work as Lead Defence Counsel defending Assad Sabra before The Special Tribunal for Lebanon in the Hague. In 2019, the FT recognized him by awarding RLC with a Commended ranking in the “Dispute Resolution’ category. He has been leading a Defence team of highly respected international criminal lawyers in this international court since 2012, and is the only UK appointed lead Defence Counsel in the proceedings.
He said of his appointment:
“My aim will be to secure new opportunities for the Criminal Bar both in the international courts and in foreign jurisdictions. Having practised in the Hague for many years I firmly believe our members have a great deal to offer”
