Chambers welcomes new pupils and new probationary tenant

September 13, 2024

Chambers extends a warm welcome to our 2024 pupils Seán Binder and Basanti Mardemootoo who have started with Chambers this month.

Pupils will observe and work with RLC practitioners across a broad spectrum of criminal and regulatory work throughout their eighteen months. They will have the opportunity to observe both prosecution and defence work, gaining valuable experience within our London Chambers and from our Chelmsford annexe. Additionally, several of our members are engaged in international and human rights cases, providing opportunities for pupils to assist with research.

Jane Oldfield, Joint Head of the Education and Training Committee said : “We are committed to ensuring that our pupils achieve their potential through our comprehensive training programme, and will provide our pupils with lots of opportunities to fully engage with the chambers community and the wider Criminal Bar. Above all, we want every pupil to feel supported, to thrive and to thoroughly enjoy their pupillage experience.”

In addition, Chambers are delighted to welcome Maleeka Bokhari who joins as a Probationary Tenant. Having trained as a barrister in England, Maleeka has had an illustrious political career in Pakistan, and has also worked in Pakistan on high-profile cases as legal counsel and in corporate and commercial private practice. Maleeka has a particular specialism in International Law and Human Rights.
