Chambers marks World Mental Health Day 2023

Chambers marks World Mental Health Day with the successful completion of its pilot “Supervision Scheme” which was launched earlier this year to provide specialist support from trained supervisors to members to support their wellbeing. The scheme took place over 6 months and was fully funded by the Chambers Wellbeing committee.

Chambers Wellbeing Director Valerie Charbit said:

“With the pressure of difficult and sensitive cases. long working hours and family/personal commitments, we continue to prioritise mental health in Chambers. The Supervision Scheme was launched to provide specialist support from trained supervisors to our members so that they had a safe space to discuss any issues and find ways to improve their wellbeing. We had positive feedback from those who attended sessions over a period of 6 months and are considering offering the scheme to members in the future to offer them a consistent support system.”

Chambers were recognised for their work in wellbeing by the Bar Council in May 2023 [Valerie Charbit recognised for her work on wellbeing] and continues to support different initiatives including creative activities, social gatherings as well as informative talks.
