Gavin has broad experience in various criminal and regulatory matters, having both prosecuted and defended in a wide array of cases in the Magistrates’ Court, Crown Court, and at Court Martials. He is presently engaged as a member of the team supporting Dame Linda Dobbs DBE in the Dame Linda Dobbs Review, which examines whether the matters concerning HBOS Reading were adequately investigated and reported to the relevant authorities by Lloyds Banking Group at the time of its acquisition of HBOS.
Gavin qualified as a criminal defence solicitor in 2013 for a regional firm. It was at this firm he obtained his police station accreditation, duty solicitor qualification and Higher rights of audience before transferring to the bar in 2015 and continuing to work at the firm as in house counsel before moving into Chambers.
Gavin is approved to accept instructions direct from international and UK clients on a direct access basis, without the need for a solicitor intermediary in appropriate cases.
