Our Environmental Law Team is recognised as a leader in its field, boasting a breadth of talent and experience. We advise and represent major corporations and their senior directors in leading environmental cases featuring land and water pollution, air and land waste management, including cases with an international dimension, and regulatory compliance.
We also act for the Environment Agency and Local Authorities in relation to large-scale environmental pollution.
Members are on the Regulatory Board’s list of Specialist Regulatory Advocates – Panels A and B, and approved to prosecute on behalf of the Attorney-General for the Health and Safety Executive, Environment Agency, Office of Rail and Road, Natural Resources Wales, the Care Quality Commission and the Office for Product Safety Standards.
Members are highly skilled in giving strategic, robust and timely advice and high-quality representation with an eye to commercial considerations and reputational risk.
Beyond the courtroom, our barristers contribute to shaping policy and practice, regularly lecturing lawyers and judges, both in the UK and abroad. We also train specialist officers and defence teams on key aspects of environmental law.
