Michael Goodwin KC and Trevor Archer successfully prosecute London triple shooting

Michael Goodwin KC and Trevor Archer have successfully prosecuted seven defendants who have been jailed at the Old Bailey for more than 100 years.

The case involved a triple gang related shooting on the King’s Coronation weekend in May 2023. Following the stabbing of an associate in East Dulwich, the defendants carried out a “revenge” attack against individuals believed to be in the south London rival 22 gang.

The three shootings took place on residential streets in Peckham during daylight hours. Stolen vehicles had been used and the group had been armed with weapons including a loaded sawn-off shot gun, machete and zombie knife.

Tyreke Smikle was convicted of conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm, two counts of wounding with intent, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, possession of a prohibited firearm and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs. He was sentenced to life imprisonment.

The remaining defendants were convicted of conspiracy to commit Grievous Bodily Harm, and two defendants were convicted of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.
